The Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics celebrated its 21-year anniversary and presented scholarship awards to outstanding bioinformatic students. Introductory words were given by Prof. Elhanan Borenstein, head of the Center, Mr. Ariel Greenberg, from the Edmond J. Safra Foundation, Prof. Gal Oestreicher-Singer, Tel Aviv University Vice Rector, and Prof. Karen Avraham, Dean.
We are especially proud of the students in our Gray School of Medicine: Yadid Algavi, MD-PhD student, was awarded the Research Prize for Outstanding PhD students, and Noam Elcawy and Tomer Nisan, students in the Life Sciences & Computer Science with a Specialty in Bioinformatics and School of Medicine track, who received the TAU President’s & Safra Scholarship.
