The Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University invites outstanding researchers to join its academic faculty and lead innovative and groundbreaking research programs in the life sciences and medicine.
We seek candidates with an independent scientific vision, demonstrated research achievements, and the potential for long-term scientific leadership. The Faculty encourages pioneering research that integrates experimental, computational, and interdisciplinary approaches, and provides a research environment that fosters broad collaborations with researchers in medicine, life sciences, engineering, and the exact sciences, as well as with clinical partners and medical centers.
We are seeking candidates at all academic ranks. The position is a tenure-track faculty position, with the possibility of tenure following a probationary period. The position is full-time (100%) and is expected to begin in July or October 2027.
Position Description
Successful candidates will be expected to initiate, develop, and lead innovative research programs as heads of experimental and/or computational laboratories, collaborate with colleagues, supervise M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, and participate in teaching activities.
Areas of expertise include, but are not limited to:
Cell biology, developmental biology, physiology, pharmacology, pathology, genetics, genomics, precision medicine, computational medicine, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, cellular and molecular neurobiology, regenerative medicine, bionanotechnology, bioinformatics, computational biology, medical data science, and artificial intelligence in medicine.
Position Requirements
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or M.D.+Ph.D. degree.
Postdoctoral training in biology, medicine, or a related field is required.
Candidates should demonstrate:

Proven research achievements reflected by significant publications in leading international scientific journals.

The ability to develop and lead an independent research program.

Excellent teaching abilities.

The ability to mentor and train graduate students.
Candidates are expected to lead an independent research program, obtain competitive research funding, and participate in the international scientific community.

Curriculum vitae according to the Faculty guidelines. The C.V. must be submitted according to the required format. CVs submitted in a different format will not be considered.

List of publications according to the Faculty guidelines.

A brief document (up to 5 pages) summarizing previous research activities.

Future research plans (up to 3 pages).

A brief document (one page) describing teaching areas in which the candidate could contribute, with reference to courses taught within the Faculty of Medicine.

Three (3) letters of recommendation from the doctoral advisor, postdoctoral advisor, and an additional recommender. Letters should be submitted upon request of the candidate, addressed to Prof. Uri Ben-David, Chair of the Search Committee of the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, and sent to medisearch@tauex.tau.ac.il.
Letters from the doctoral and postdoctoral advisors are mandatory requirements for candidates applying for their first academic position.
