Safety committee
The committee provides a forum for employees and management to work together to solve and discuss safety problems in the Faculty. Conduct regular walkaround inspections to identify potential safety hazards
The committee includes members from all the Departments at the Faculty which possess a strong teamwork attitude and be able to effect changes within the Faculty safety program. Meetings are at least 8 times a year.
Scope of the Safety Committee

To promote and maintain the interest of students and employees in safety issues with respect to chemical, biological, radioactive and physical hazards in all research laboratories and teaching laboratories at the Faculty

To establish and review strategies to ensure ongoing and adequate surveillance, hazard identification, and risk evaluation of laboratory activities related to chemical, biological, radioactive and physical hazards

To provide an opportunity for the free discussion of health and safety problems and possible solutions

To inform students, employees and supervisors about safety issues

To help reduce the risk of workplace injuries

To recommend or initiate remedial actions when safe procedures are not followed or when procedures are not in compliance with TAU regulations

Safety day meeting is held once a year, visiting establishments in Israel in order to acquired new ideas for improvement of Safety conditions and safe work practices in research laboratories at the Faculty.
