The Goldschleger Eye Research Institute
The Goldschleger Eye Research Institute is part of the Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences at Sheba Medical Center in Tel Hashomer. Situated within this medical center, the Institute fosters close collaboration between basic and clinical research.
Our basic research focuses on using the visual system as a model to explore how sensory information is processed in the brain in healthy brains and those affected by rare genetic pediatric developmental disorders. Utilizing animal models of these conditions, we investigate the underlying causes of developmental delays and cognitive deficits and work on developing novel treatment strategies, including genetic therapies, for these severe pediatric conditions.
