PhD Application Submission

PhD Timeline
1️. Find a Supervisor
2️. Admission Interview
3️. Submit Research Proposal (Within 1 year of acceptance)
4️. Progress Report (1.5 years after submitting the research proposal)
5️. Final Report (3.5 years from acceptance)
6️. Submit Thesis (4 years from acceptance)
All documents must be submitted to the PhD Secretariat in two ways:
- Printed Copy:
- Submit one printed copy of all documents (except for the two supervisor's publications, which should be submitted via email only).
- Documents will not be returned to the applicant, so it is recommended to submit "certified true copies."
- Forms must be completed electronically and not handwritten.
- All materials, including the presentation, should be placed in a plastic folder and arranged in the order specified in the table below.
- Submission Address: Graduate School Secretariat, Room 212, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Medicine Building.
- Submission Hours: 10:00 - 14:00.

All documents, including the presentation, must be submitted by the above deadlines.
Important Notes:
- Supervisor approval is a prerequisite for applying.
- If unable to submit documents in person, send the printed copy to Graduate School, Faculty of Medicine, Sackler Building, Room 212, Tel Aviv University, Ramat Aviv, Tel Aviv 69978.
- Candidates who do not yet have a master's degree completion certificate can only apply after submitting their thesis for review.
- Any student with a disciplinary or ethical violation may consider this part of the admission decision.
Required Documents:
Applications will only be processed once all the documents, including the presentation, are submitted as a printed copy and via email to medphd@tauex.tau.ac.il.

Select one of the following forms: Application form for the regular track, including BRAVO Program - intended for holders of a Master's degree and M.D. Application form for the direct track, including BRAVO Program - intended for Bachelor’s degree holders or students during their Master's degree studies (up to 3 semesters in the second degree).

Will be submitted together with two articles by the supervisor on the proposed topic and the approval of the workplace. The supervisor is a senior lecturer and above in the regular track. |

Education certificates for the first degree |
The required certificates are: 1. Bachelor’s Degree University certificate or approval of eligibility for a Bachelor’s degree. 2. Grades transcript, including the final grade. For your attention: * These documents must be original, with the original signature of the institution. A "copy of the original" may be submitted for approval to the Academic Secretariat. * Direct track: Students who complete their undergraduate studies this year may apply for admission interviews at the end of the second semester without approval of eligibility for the degree, but their admission will be contingent upon completion of the degree according to the requirements of the track. Original score transcripts and confirmation of eligibility for a degree/education certificate should be mailed to the Translation Unit in the Student Administration Department of Tel Aviv University (certificates translation) |

The required certificates are: 1. Certificate of Master's Degree (M.D. - MD, D.M.D - Dr. of Dentistry or D.V.M - Dr. Lutrinaria) or approval of entitlement to a master's degree. 2. Grades transcript, including the final grade and thesis grade. For your attention: * These documents must be original, with the original signature of the institution. A "copy of the original" may be submitted for approval to the Academic Secretariat. A declaration of research intent must be concisely formulated and should not exceed one page. The statement must be in Hebrew or English in the David size 12 font. The research proposed in this statement must be presented during the interview. The statement shall refer to: 1. The field of study in which you are interested. 2. A brief description of the research project in the field of interest you intend to present in the interview (background of the research field, research question, research objectives, methods you will use for each purpose, possible results, indicate another research approach that will promote the research). 3. A sentence or two about scientific research you have done in the past (master's degree, project, etc.). 4. Your background, career goals, and how your PhD program will advance you in achieving your academic goals. |

Guidelines for candidates for the regular track/direct track: In the admission interview after the presentation by the candidate, a discussion will be held and the committee members will raise questions. Therefore, you need to prepare a presentation based on the research statement you have written. The length of the presentation will be up to 7 minutes. The length of the presentation will be up to 10 slides, including: 1. One slide that briefly and accurately describes the thesis/research project you have done in the past 2. One slide or two- the background of future research 3. The question of future research 4. One slide for each research goal, about three goals, including a brief and accurate breakdown of the research plan, method, and preliminary results or expected results. 5. Summary of the research plan During the discussion, the candidates will be asked questions such as general questions in the research field, questions about how the research is planned, what will happen if the research process is not successful, alternative methods that can be used if the proposed method fails, what are the possible results and how does your previous training in the field help you in planning this project. |

Abstract of the thesis/research project |
Applicants with a master's degree will submit their thesis abstract. Candidates with a first degree will submit a summary of their project work or a summary of the seminar paper. |
