2023 TAU MedTech Hackathon Winners

The 2023 TAU MedTech Hackathon is officially over! After 40 hours of hard work and innovation, we are excited to announce the winners of this year's hackathon. Our judges were impressed by the creativity and dedication of all teams, but only six groups qualified for the grand final.. and here are the results!

 

1st Place: Team "OReye" from the Clalit Health Services' general surgery track for their innovative solution, which makes the operating room safer for patients and relieves stress within surgical teams. They use cutting-edge computer vision technology to aid every operation. Their project stood out for its originality, feasibility, and potential impact. Congratulations to team members Daphne Cavanaugh, Aviv Ziv, Raz Naveh, Adi Sarig, Eden Elbaz, and Idan Helzer – who are going to fly to compete with their idea at MIT Hacking Medicine and will receive an AION Labs and Sanara Ventures accelerator package ensuring mentoring hours, office space, and professional tools for developing their winning idea into a fully-fledged startup!

 

2nd Place: Team "Mommies'" from the Keren Briah's women's health track. They created a community-based wellness app for the early detection of peripartum depression and supporting mothers. Congratulations to team members Tal Beit Halevi, Shani Zach, Assaf Gadish, Victoria Koval, Mirit Halfon, and Juliana Gordon, who will receive Leumit and WeCcelerate complete escorting program.

 

3rd Place: Team "ABC3D" from the Tel Aviv Medical Center's plastic surgery track for their impressive service that utilizes state-of-the-art models to create personalized treatment plans for breast reduction surgery, providing advanced prediction and visualization tools, resulting in improved surgical outcomes. Congratulations to Alaa Masarwa, Ido Shapira, Sarah Tannenbaum, Savion Cohen, Lydia Sokolovski, and Mai Ohana, who got into the JumpTAU accelerator program at Tel Aviv University's Entrepreneurship Center.

 

In addition, all winning teams will receive legal consultation courtesy of Barnea Jaffa Lande.

 

Honorable Mentions: Team "CoordiMate" from Sheba Medical Center's hospital without border track, team "DermaDoc" from Rabin Medical Center's dermatology track, and team "CathTree" from Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel

pediatric neurosurgery track for their outstanding work on their projects.
