Bar Shahar Wins Falling Walls Lab Tel Aviv 2026
PhD student Bar Shahar won Falling Walls Lab Tel Aviv 2026 and will represent Israel at the Global Finale in Berlin in November.
Bar Shahar, a PhD student in Prof. Lihi Adler-Abramovich’s research group at the Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine, Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University, has won Falling Walls Lab Tel Aviv 2026 and will represent Israel at the Falling Walls Lab Global Finale in Berlin in November 2026.
Her pitch, “Breaking the Wall of Native Collagen Production,” presents an innovative approach to enhancing native collagen production in mammalian cells, with potential applications in regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
Falling Walls Lab is an international platform for scientific innovation, where early-career researchers present breakthrough ideas in a concise format. Winning the Tel Aviv competition qualifies Shahar to join finalists from around the world at the Global Finale in Berlin.
The research is conducted in the Adler-Abramovich Laboratory of Bioinspired Materials & Nanotechnology at Tel Aviv University.
