Hila May promoted to Associate Professor

Prof. Hila May is head of the Biohistory and Evolutionary Medicine Laboratory and the Department of Anatomy and Anthropology. She studies recent and past human populations to achieve new insights into long-lasting biological processes and the evolutionary roots of modern-day diseases.
Prof. May obtained an MSc and a PhD in Biological Anthropology at Tel Aviv University. For her postdoctoral research, she joined the Institute for Evolutionary Medicine at Zurich University, where she specialized in methods of virtual anthropology.
She is head of the Dan David Center for Human Evolution and Biohistory Research and the Shmunis Family Anthropology Institute.
Prof. May won the Bergmann Memorial Award from the BSF for young scientists.
