The Beutler Research Programs of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Award has been awarded to Karen Avraham.

 

Karen Avraham is a professor in the Department of Human Molecular Genetics & Biochemistry and the Vice Dean for Preclinical Affairs. The primary interest in her lab is the genetic basis of hereditary hearing loss or deafness. 

 

Her group is working towards the identification, characterization and regulation of genes associated with hereditary hearing loss. They have provided the link between gene discovery and clinical diagnosis in genetic clinics in medical centers throughout Israel.
