CV

Dr. Yael Sahar Kostis holds an MD degree from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. She subsequently earned a Master’s degree in Occupational Health (M.Occ.H.) at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine (thesis track) with honours, and an additional Master’s degree (MHA) in Public Health and Health Systems Administration from Bar-Ilan University, also with honours. 

Dr. Sahar Kostis began her career in the Occupational Medicine Department of Clalit Health Services in Tel Aviv, focusing on fitness-for-work assessments, establishing causal links for occupational diseases, supervising medical residents and students, and developing preventive programs in various workplaces. She also served as a court-appointed medical expert, providing expert opinions in occupational medicine. 

In recent years, Dr. Sahar Kostis has served as Deputy Chief Medical Officer at the Main Medical Bureau of the National Insurance Institute. In this role, she oversees professional guidance for physicians and formulates policies and procedures in the area of work-related injuries. She manages numerous organizational interfaces, represents the Institute in professional committees, and leads planning and monitoring processes. Concurrently, she teaches occupational and environmental health at Tel Aviv University, as well as in various programs for training occupational safety officers. 

Dr. Sahar Kostis is a member of several professional bodies, including the Israeli Association of Occupational Medicine, the Scientific Council of the Israel Medical Association (IMA), and advisory committees of the Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Health regarding occupational health.
