The Tip of the Iceberg: Integrating Factors Associated with Health Across the Life Course
Environmental Exposures and Lifelong Health
Saul J. Farber Distinguished Lectures in Medicine
The School of Public Health and the Institute for Advanced Studies at Tel Aviv University invite you to a guest lecture by Prof. Pam Factor-Litvak of Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health.
What shapes our health throughout our lives? The answer goes far beyond any single risk factor.
Environmental exposures, including heavy metals, air pollution, chemicals, and psychosocial factors, have been studied for decades. Yet significant gaps remain in understanding how these factors interact and how scientific knowledge can be translated into strategies that improve population health.
In her lecture, "The Tip of the Iceberg: Integrating Factors Associated with Health Across the Life Course – Public Health from Theory to Practice," Prof. Factor-Litvak will draw on data from multiple birth cohort studies to examine these gaps. She will also discuss new approaches to data collection and analysis that could help advance public health research and practice.

Prof. Pam Factor-Litvak is an epidemiologist at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. Her research focuses on the health effects of environmental contaminants, particularly heavy metals such as lead and mercury, and their associations with pregnancy outcomes, child development, neurological health, and reproductive health.
