Anat Mirelman promoted to Full Professor

Prof. Anat Mirelman, Ph.D., directs the Laboratory for Early Markers of Neurodegeneration (LEMON) in the Neurological Institute at the Tel Aviv Medical Center (TLVMC). She leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists and students exploring markers and mechanisms of ageing and neurodegeneration. In the past 13 years, Prof. Mirelman has led the ‘Genetics in Parkinson’s Disease Project’ with the aim of identifying early markers that could indicate disease processes in individuals at risk due to genetic mutations associated with Parkinson’s disease (PD). Prof. Mirelman’s specific interest is in gait and brain reserve and the use of quantitative, objective measures obtained from wearable sensors and their utility in identifying markers of disease and disease progression. Prof. Mirelman is also an associate editor of Frontiers in Neurology and IEEE OJEMB.
