Mini Symposium: Cancer Genomics
Cancer Genomics Research
The Department of Human Genetics and Computational Medicine, the Department of Cancer Biology & Immunology, and the Edmond J. Safra Center for Bioinformatics at Tel Aviv University invite you to a mini symposium hosted by Prof. Uri Ben-David.
The symposium will feature two leading cancer researchers, Prof. Rameen Beroukhim of Harvard Medical School and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and Prof. Anton Henssen of Charité Berlin and the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine.
The lectures will focus on positive and negative selection in cancer genomes and the therapeutic targeting of extrachromosomal DNA in cancer.

About the Speakers
► Prof. Rameen Beroukhim
Prof. Rameen Beroukhim is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, a physician-scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and an Associate Member of the Broad Institute. His research focuses on the somatic genetics of cancer, particularly chromosomal alterations, genomic instability, and their biological effects, with a major focus on brain cancers.
► Prof. Anton Henssen
Prof. Anton Henssen is Professor of Functional Pediatric Cancer Genomics at Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Group Leader at the Max Delbrück Center/ECRC. A pediatric oncologist and physician-scientist, he studies genomic instability and extrachromosomal DNA in childhood cancers, particularly neuroblastoma and rhabdomyosarcoma, aiming to identify vulnerabilities for personalized therapies.
