Teva's Bio-Innovation Fellowship & Mentorship Program

Teva's Bio-Innovation Fellowship & Mentorship Program is a unique scholarship program that includes a scholarship, mentoring and guidance of professionals from industry. The purpose of the program is to support and promote research on biological therapies between academia and industry.

The $10,000 scholarships for the academic year will be awarded on the basis of excellence in studies and scientific research and are intended for doctoral students and post-doctoral students whose research deals with the following areas:

Areas of scientific focus for 2020-21

• Brain disorders:

  • Novel targets in CNS and PNS; novel pathways and mechanisms in brain disorders, e.g. neurodegeneration and pain
  •  Mechanisms for delivering proteins and specifically antibodies to the brain and advanced monitoring/imaging of BBB crossing
  • Neuroimmunology

• New targets and mechanisms for Immuno-modulation relevant for cancer, autoimmune,
inflammation, and respiratory diseases

• Protein engineering and modeling

• Drug delivery systems for protein-based drugs, e.g. nano-carriers or exosomes

• Advanced therapies such as cell and gene therapy for CNS, PNS, inflammation and respiratory. Novel
methods to characterize and predict biological-based drug adverse reactions such as
immunogenicity.

• AI and big-data tools and approaches for proteins structure-function prediction, antibody affinity,
immunogenicity, etc.

• Digital biomarkers, sensors and wearables for monitoring brain disorders
