Clinical elective for TAU medical students at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

TAU 6-year program medical student returns from elective

15 December 2019
Tal Marshanski, a TAU 6-year program medical student returns from his elective at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center

Now entering its 8th year, TAU medical students have an opportunity to perform a month-long clinical elective at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Tal Marshanski, a TAU 6-year program medical student, just returned from his elective. He joined the pediatric endocrinology team for 4 weeks of inpatient consult service, observed outpatients in clinics for diabetes, neuromuscular diseases, Turner's syndrome, and general endocrinology. He also joined the CURED Research Conference, a two-day conference on eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases. He met dedicated and brilliant physicians and support staff with a great attitude for teaching and teamwork. Tal left Cincinnati with valuable knowledge of pediatric endocrinology and acquired many clinical skills. He was especially inspired by the great care given to communication between the physician and the patients and their caregivers, an approach Tal has already started applying in his clinical encounters. Visiting a leading pediatric medical center in the US has inspired Tal to shape his own path as a future pediatrician.

The program is organized by Prof. Ariel Munitz and Prof. Karen B. Avraham, with support from the Dean’s office at the Sackler School of Medicine at TAU, and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
