Women medical students at Surgery Symposium

Five outstanding medical students were selected to attend the Women in Surgery Career Symposium in Tampa, Florida, on Feb. 6-7, 2026, made possible by Prof. Sharona Ross, Professor of Surgery at the College of Medicine, University of Central Florida (UCF) and President of the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons (SLS). The students were selected out of a competition held by the Women in Medicine (WIM) Initiative at the Gray School of Medicine, a student-founded and run initiative. Gal Litman, Inbar Shmuelevitz, Lihi Javits, Noor Abu Hjool, and Shani Medvejer attended the inspiring Symposium.
