Dr. Bikovski to Lead the Neuro-Behavioral Core Facility at TAU’s Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences

Dr. Bikovski has been appointed to a new position at Tel Aviv University’s Faculty of Medical & Health Sciences, where he will lead the Neuro-Behavioral Core Facility.

 

He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from Tel Aviv University under the mentorship of Prof. Ina Weiner, specializing in deep brain stimulation treatments in a rodent model of schizophrenia. In 2015, under the guidance of Prof. Yosef Shiloh, Dr. Bikovski established the Myers Neuro-Behavioral Core Facility, the first dedicated service unit at Tel Aviv University for the behavioral assessment of laboratory rodents. His research collaborations have led to many publications on topics including mouse models of schizophrenia and brain injury, as well as the effects of UV radiation on various mouse models. Committed to improving the reproducibility and validity of behavioral research, Dr. Bikovski has contributed to several methodological studies. His current work focuses on the influence of animal welfare on behavioral research outcomes and the refinement of experimental methodologies in behavioral studies.
