Koret Foundation awards TAU researchers funding for a global collaboration on neurodegenerative disease research

The Koret Foundation has awarded TAU researchers 2.5 million dollars to coordinate a collaboration with colleagues from Stanford University, the Gladstone Institutes and the Buck Institute in the Bay area of San Francisco. Spearheaded by Prof. Karen Avraham, Vice Dean at the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Uri Ashery, head of the Sagol School of Neuroscience, the research of five scientists from TAU will be supported, as well as the purchase of a light-sheet microscope. The awardees are Prof. Hagit Eldar-Finkelman and Dr. Avi Ashkenazi from the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Uri Ashery, Prof. Dan Frenkel, and Prof. Miguel Weil from the Faculty of Life Sciences. A joint symposium took place on Jan 12, 2020 at Tel Aviv University, with guests Prof. Frank Longo, Prof. Lisa Ellerby, Prof. Harvey Cohen, Prof. Matthew Porteus, and Prof. Steve Finkbeiner.
