Mitigating the effects of the hidden curriculum on professional identity formation

Please join us for a 30-minute webinar on Mitigating the Effects of the Hidden Curriculum on Professional Identity Formation.

Thursday, April 2ndat 1 p.m. ET.

Orit Karnieli-Miller, PhD, Head of the Department of Medical Education at Tel Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine, will present the session.

Professional formation involves establishing a personal code of values and behaviors that is consistent with those of the profession. This process assumes that the personal and professional values are clear and that they are aligned with the norms of behavior practiced in the clinics. But this becomes challenging when learners are exposed to values, behaviors and norms that are different and when the hidden curriculum violates some of the professionalism values.

This webinar focuses on these challenges and will include various educational tools, which faculty can use to help learners mitigate the adversarial effects of the hidden curriculum.
