Multidisciplinary Research
Research at the Sackler Faculty of Medicine is multidisciplinary, as scientists and clinicians combine efforts in basic and translational research. Research is conducted in the laboratories on the TAU campus, and in the clinical facilities affiliated to the Faculty.
The Faculty of Medicine engages in joint teaching and research programs with nearly every faculty at TAU, including the Wise Faculty of Life Sciences, the Sagol School of Neuroscience, the Edmond J. Safra Bioinformatics Center, the TAU Center for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and the Edmond J. Safra Center for Ethics, and multi-nationally with schools, hospitals and research centers throughout the world.
The Sackler faculty is known for research in the following areas: cancer biology, stem cells, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, infectious diseases and genetic diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV/AIDS.
