Selection
Selection is based on:
- Academic record
- Motivation
- Experience
- Host requirements
*If offered a spot, you must meet all host and TAU requirements and application deadlines. Failure to do so may result in loss of spot in the program.
Costs & logistics
All costs associated with the elective are the sole responsibility of the participating student; the university does not provide any direct funding for the elective.
- Students are responsible for airfare, housing, daily expenses, and insurance. unless otherwise stated
- Some hosts may charge application fees and/or malpractice fees.
- Scholarship opportunities, if available, will be announced separately.
- Scholarships for academic excellence of up to $2,500 may be available (dependent on availability of funds) and must be used in accordance with TAU guidelines and rules.

Non-Exchange Electives & VSLO Information
Non-Exchange Electives: Students seeking medical electives outside the exchange program are solely responsible for identifying and securing those opportunities. The Faculty cannot provide advising, administrative assistance, or financial support.
VSLO Access: The Gray School of Medicine participates in VSLO. Submit registration requests via the VSLO Application Link. The Faculty provides minimal assistance regarding VSLO electives.
