The Department of Orthodontics at the Goldschleger School of Dental Medicine Tel Aviv University (TAU), Israel has been a recognized specialty program for more than 35 years. During the past 25 years, the orthodontic education bestowed here has been an English-based international program and the place where the Ersamus Project curriculum of the European Union was first implemented.

Since its inception, students from Argentina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, England, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Portugal, Lithuania, Jamaica, Australia and Thailand, as well as Israel have successfully completed the course of study, the aim of which is to produce thinking professionals who will contribute both to the health of their clinical patients and to the profession. Graduates receive a Certificate in Orthodontics, with the option to pursue the full MSc program if they choose. Previous graduates of the International Postgraduate Program in Orthodontics have been recognized as specialists in their countries of origin.

The faculty of our department consists of graduates from leading orthodontic programs in the USA, Canada, Europe, and Israel. They provide residents with exposure to a wide range of treatment philosophies, enriching and expanding the orthodontic education available at TAU. Faculty members have published extensively in prominent orthodontic journals and are regularly invited to present their research at major international conferences. A significant proportion of our graduates have had their theses published in reputable, peer-reviewed scientific journals.

Our department was the first postgraduate orthodontic program worldwide to incorporate the lingual technique as a component of clinical training, under the supervision of a globally recognized expert in this field. Additionally, the curriculum includes the placement of temporary osseous implants and integrates the most recent technological and clinical advancements, such as aligner therapy, as standard elements of our educational approach.
