Fatima Amer-Sarsour awarded Presidential Scholarship for Postdoctoral Studies for Women

Fatima Amer-Sarsour was awarded the Presidential Scholarship for Postdoctoral Studies for Women at Tel Aviv University.

 

She intends to pursue her postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge, under Prof. David Rubinsztein's supervision.

 

Fatima completed her B.Sc. in Pharmacy, followed by her M.Sc. under the supervision of Prof. Fuad Iraqi at the School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. She obtained her Ph.D. under Dr. Avraham Ashkenazi’s supervision.

 

Fatima just published a first author manuscript in the EMBO Journal on CCHS. Fatima was awarded a scholarship from the Aufzien Family Parkinson’s Disease Center and recently published a manuscript on this disease as a shared first author in Free Radical Biology and Medicine. She has published several more manuscripts and reviews as an M.Sc. and Ph.D. student.

 

She also received the Pfizer-Wexler Foundation for Development and Progress Award for outstanding PhD students, the Excellence Award from the Marian Gertner Institute for Medical Nano-Systems, the Lois and Martin Whitman Scholarship for outstanding doctoral students of the Israeli Arab Society.
