The Summer Institute of Advanced Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Tel Aviv University School of Public Health, was founded in 2012 in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health. The Summer Institute provides a unique platform for collaboration among physicians, public health officials, scholars, and students from around the world to study and discuss topics of disease and medicine. Participants from the previous years have been from the United States, Eastern Europe, Vietnam, Africa, Israel and surrounding Middle Eastern countries.
The intensive courses are taught in English by world-renowned faculty from Johns Hopkins University (JHU), Tel Aviv University (TAU), Harvard University (HU), University of British Columbia (UBC), University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), Northwestern University (NU), London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), World Health Organization (WHO), United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other academic and research institutions.

Each course is worth 2 academic credits/4 ECTS, unless indicated otherwise. Courses may be taken credit or non-credit. |

*Due to pandemic-related restrictions, in the 2021 spring semester a semester-long course entitled, “Vaccines Against Bacterial and Viral Infections Including COVID-19”, was designed based on previous Summer Institute courses. The course was taught virtually, in English, once a week, as part of the TAU SPH course offerings. The course was attended by over 70 participants from 11 different countries.
