Pathology
The goal of research in Pathology is to uncover the mechanisms that lead to dysregulation of physiological processes and to gain molecular and cellular understanding of disease.
The research topics of the department principal investigators are diverse, including:
The biology of tumors and metastasis, Immunology and immunotherapy of cancer, Human stem cell response to stress and DNA damage, Leukemia, cellular secretion mechanisms and molecular mechanisms of insulin function in diabetes.
The advanced research methods used in the department laboratories are at the forefront of their fields and include microscopy, intracellular and intravital imaging, molecular and cellular biology, intracellular signaling and transgenic mouse models.
The department includes six research groups located at the Faculty of Medicine building, and multiple labs at the TAU affiliated hospitals.
Research laboratories include:
Prof. Neta Erez (Department Chair)
Dr. Liat Drucker
Dr. Efrat Wertheimer
