Nonconfocal variable mode laser scanner for biomolecular imaging applications including sensitive and quantitative measurements of radioisotopic labels, chemifluorescent Western blots, and single fluorescence (visible excitation), as well as documentation of colorimetric stains (e.g., Coomassie blue and silver-stained gels).

Applications include the detection of proteins stained with Deep Purple, SYPRO Ruby or SYPRO Red, chemifluorescent Western blot imaging with ECL Plus, and DNA imaging by SYBR Green or Cy5.
