Scholarships for M.Sc. Students
To be eligible for a scholarship, students must:
- Dedicate maximum time and energy to their studies and research
- Not earn more than 4000 ₪ a month in additional income
- Follow the guidelines for the School of Graduate Studies
Criteria for scholarship consideration:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 85
- Acceptance into a master's degree program by the Admissions Committee
- Commitment of the student's mentor to assist in funding the second year of studies
* The Admissions Committee may recommend a scholarship for a student whose undergraduate GPA is lower than 85, based on the student's admission interview. However, students may not repeat this interview with the intent of receiving a scholarship.
**Students cannot appeal decisions of Scholarship Committee.
Criteria to receive an elevated scholarship for outstanding students during their master's degree (grants up to 150%):
- Acceptance into a master's program by the Admissions Committee
- Commitment of the student's mentor to assist in funding the second year of studies
- Full-time dedication to their studies and research
Criteria for a second-year scholarships (for students who did not receive a scholarship in their first year):
- Average GPA of 90 or more in their first year, after completing at least 14 credit hours
- Submission of a research proposal with preliminary results by the end of the first year
- Commitment of the graduate mentor to help finance 50% of the stipend
Students who meet the above criteria will be eligible for a scholarship, for one year only. The awarded scholarship will not be less than 100%, which includes the mentor's funding. In special cases where students undertake in "dry science", the Commission will consider to approve scholarships totaling less than 100%.
Other Conditions
Graduate scholarships are awarded to students who meet the above criteria for two years or until submission of their thesis. Students are exempt from tuition fees during this period. In order to continue or increase their scholarship during their second year, students must maintain an average GPA of 85 or higher in their first year. They must have completed at least 14 hours of classes and submitted a research proposal with preliminary results.
Students who already have a master's degree are eligible to receive scholarships, but only after completion of their courses with an average GPA of 85 or above.
Accepted students may apply to the Scholarship Committee for stipends to cover other fees before the start of the school year. If they begin their studies in the second semester, they must apply before the beginning of that semester.
Students who fail to meet the requirements of the regulations may lose their scholarship.
