ArcturusXT™ Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) System

Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) is a new technology developed to enable investigators and clinicians to perform tissue microdissection on a routine basis. LCM provides a rapid, reliable, one step method to procure pure populations of targeted cells from specific microscopic regions of tissue sections for subsequent analysis. LCM can capture cells without damaging the enzymatic function of the proteins and can be used to amplify DNA or RNA from the isolated cells.

The ArcturusXT™ system combines the power of infrared (IR) laser capture and ultraviolet (UV) laser cutting in one modular platform. The solid-state IR laser preserves the overall biomolecular integrity of cells and is ideal for both single cells and small numbers of cells. The solid-state UV laser permits superior speed and precision, and is well suited for microdissecting dense tissue structures, and capturing large numbers of cells.

The ArcturusXT™ LCM instrument and reagents, combined with our downstream analysis platforms including: Sanger sequencing, next-generation sequencing, and quantitative PCR, provide a complete solution for microgenomics research.
