Oncology
As part of the clerkship, the student will study the treatment and monitoring of cancer patients at the follow-up clinic in the Institute of Oncology.
The student will learn about the complexity of the oncology profession through holistic discussion on patient care and also in more detailed analysis of pathological results. Students are exposed to simulations, as well as supportive and multidisciplinary patient care through mentorship with a practicing oncologist. The affiliated hospital departments provide opportunities for the student to explore the potential of basic and clinical oncology research.
During the course, students learn about the latest technologies and equipment used in radiation treatment. They participate in a three-dimensional simulation at the radiation center as well as a presentation on pharmacological tools that reduce the side effects of chemotherapy.
