UV-Vis SpectraMax 190 Microplate Reader quantifies DNA and performs a variety of fluorescent applications as well as some time-resolved fluorescent and luminescent assays. The multichannel design for 96-well microplates uses separate sample and reference beams for each sample, like a dual-beam spectrophotometer, equipped with monochromator-based wavelength selection from 250 nm to 850 nm. Variations in measured fluorescence values are virtually eliminated by internal compensation for detector sensitivity, photomultiplier tube voltage and sensitivity, as well as excitation intensity.
