SP8 Confocal Microscope
The Leica SP8 Confocal microscope features a filter-free spectral detector system comprising 5 lasers (405, argon at 458, 476, 488, and 514 wavelengths, 561, 594, and 633). Its detector optics cover a spectral range from 400 to 800 nm. The microscope is equipped with various objectives, including 10X air (0.4NA), 20X air (0.75NA), 40X water (1.1NA), and 63X oil (1.4NA) magnifications. The scanning can operate in either conventional or resonant modes. The system includes 5 detectors: 3 conventional PMTs and 2 highly sensitive hybrid detectors (HyD). For detailed information on HyDs, refer to "Sensors for True Confocal Scanning" on Leica Science Lab. Additionally, the software incorporates a "Lightening" module enabling rapid simultaneous multicolour imaging at high resolution with built-in deconvolution capabilities. Furthermore, there is a stage incubator chamber that offers precise control over temperature and CO2 levels for conducting live experiments.
