Congratulations to Prof. Carmit Levy for being awarded the Kadar Family Award for Outstanding Research at Tel Aviv University! She is a Senior Faculty Awardee and is recognized for having reached the highest levels of academic achievement and peer recognition for her research at Tel Aviv University, for her performance in teaching and supervising graduate students, for her publications in high-visibility journals, and for her active participation at international conferences. The Award is made possible through the generous donation of the Naomi Prawer Kadar Foundation. Prof. Levy is head of the Department of Human Genetics and Computational Medicine at the Gray School of Medical Sciences at Tel Aviv University. Prof. Levy's research spans multiple interconnected areas, including skin physiology and responses to UV exposure, melanoma progression and metastasis, immune regulation, extracellular matrix biology, and non-coding RNA–mediated communication. Her laboratory takes a multidisciplinary approach that integrates mathematical and computational modeling, molecular and cellular biology, and close collaboration with clinical teams. Her team is driven by a commitment to cutting-edge science and they are not afraid to tackle fundamental and challenging questions, often bringing new perspectives that lead to unexpected insights and breakthrough discoveries.
