The Cancer Biology Research Center (CBRC) at Tel Aviv University brings together cancer research conducted across the University and its affiliated medical centers, creating a broad and collaborative environment for advancing cancer science.
Established in 1980, the CBRC has grown into a multidisciplinary research community comprising more than 100 research groups and over 400 researchers, clinicians, students, and research professionals working across diverse areas of cancer research.
The Center connects researchers across disciplines, faculties, and clinical settings, spanning basic cancer biology, computational research, diagnostics, therapeutic development, translational research, and clinical investigation. Its research encompasses major cancer fields including breast and ovarian, gastrointestinal, lung, melanoma and skin, brain and head and neck, urinary tract, and hematologic malignancies.
A defining strength of the CBRC is its close connection between fundamental research and clinical care. By fostering collaboration between laboratory scientists and clinicians, the Center seeks to translate scientific discoveries into improved approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The CBRC also supports research through competitive funding, travel grants, scientific meetings, and collaborative programs, while providing a platform for researchers from different fields and institutions to connect and develop joint research initiatives.
Through this multidisciplinary and collaborative approach, the CBRC aims to strengthen cancer research at Tel Aviv University and its affiliated medical centers, advance scientific discovery, and help bridge the gap between bench and bedside.
The TAU-CBRC-Gray BRCA Research Initiative builds on this established ecosystem, bringing a focused commitment to BRCA-related malignancies and creating new opportunities for research, collaboration, and international scientific exchange.
