The first year of the TAU-CBRC-Gray BRCA Research Initiative has established a strong foundation for a dynamic and collaborative BRCA research ecosystem.

 

From competitive research funding and international engagement to supporting the next generation of cancer researchers, the Initiative has already begun to create new opportunities for scientific discovery and collaboration.

 

Our First Year at a Glance

  • 15 Competitive research proposals received
  • 15 Research projects reviewed through an international peer-review process
  • 6 Research and Seed Grants awarded
  • 3 Research Grant projects
  • 3 Seed Grant projects
  • 9 Tel Aviv University faculties engaged
  • 18 Affiliated medical centers connected through the program
  • 5 Students supported through Travel Grants to attend and actively participate in international scientific conferences
  • 2 PhD students supported through Research Visit Grants for research visits of up to two months at leading institutions abroad
  • 3 Distinguished international keynote speakers participating in the 2026 Kick-Off Meeting
  • 200+ Physicians, scientists, residents, and students expected to attend the 2026 Kick-Off Meeting

 

Beyond these milestones, the Initiative has already stimulated new connections between researchers at Tel Aviv University, affiliated medical centers, and leading international scientists. Several of these interactions are expected to develop into future collaborative research projects.

 

Together, these activities represent important early milestones in building a vibrant, internationally connected, and collaborative BRCA research ecosystem.
