We are pleased to announce a call for a new elite scholarship program for outstanding PhD students conducting neuroscience research at TAU.
The Sieratzki Institute Scholarship will complement support by the student’s mentor (100% level scholarship by the Institute + 125% level scholarship by Faculty/School/Advisor) to combine to the highest possible stipend for PhD students at TAU.
The Sieratzki Institute's goals are to serve as a catalyst for excellence in neuroscience research at TAU, increasing scientific interaction between research groups, improving infrastructure, and fostering the training of PhD students.
Eligibility
- A student must be enrolled full-time in a PhD (direct or regular) program at TAU.
- The PhD proposal of the candidate must focus on understanding the nervous system in cellular/molecular/system/cognitive neuroscience.
- Recipients of other fellowships of excellence granted by TAU, such as Sagol scholarships, are not eligible to apply.
- A commitment for an additional 125% fellowship is required from Faculty/School/PI to match the Sieratzki Scholarship, up to 225%.
- Two recommendation letters are required (one must be from the PhD advisor).
- A recipient must dedicate full-time effort to research.

- PhD students who meet the above criteria are requested to provide a CV and fill out the attached application form and advisor commitment form.

Rules and Regulations
- All applications that pass eligibility criteria will be reviewed on a competitive basis by the Sieratzki Institute Scientific Committee.
- Scholarships are awarded for a maximum of 4 years, starting from May 1, 2025.
- The recipients will be named Sieratzki Fellows and must acknowledge the Sieratzki Institute for Advances in Neuroscience in any publication or publicity notice resulting from or related to the project.
- Recipients must attend Sieratzki Institute seminars and conferences and present their research when requested.
- Recipients must provide a yearly progress report.
- Continuation of the fellowships will be approved by the Sieratzki Scientific Committee based on the annual progress report.
- The terms and conditions for receiving the Sieratzki Scholarships are determined by the Sieratzki Institute Scientific Committee and may change between calls.
