The Aufzien Family Center for the Prevention and Treatment of Parkinson's Disease (APPD) was established in 2019 through a generous donation from the Aufzien family. The Center aims to advance research to improve the treatment and prevention of Parkinson's disease.
The APPD is a collaborative initiative between the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, the Sagol School of Neuroscience at Tel Aviv University, the Tel Aviv Medical Center, and other affiliated medical centers. It serves as a hub for groundbreaking research and fosters partnerships among researchers, clinicians, and institutions to address the challenges of Parkinson's Disease.
Through its grant program and educational activities, the APPD supports cutting-edge research aimed at developing better treatments, prevention strategies, and methods to slow disease progression.
The Center also organizes monthly seminars and annual international symposiums to promote knowledge exchange, inspire innovation, and encourage collaboration among the global Parkinson’s research community.
