He earned his Ph.D. from Tel Aviv University and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Washington. His research integrates structural biology and cell signaling to understand membrane proteins linked to cancer and immune function.
Prof. Haitin's lab uncovered the role of CLIC proteins as fusogens and revealed the structural organization of TTYH and Hv1 channels.
His work on prenyltransferases elucidated mechanisms relevant to oncogenic signaling and rare diseases.
His research is supported by the Israel Science Foundation, US-Israel Binational Science Foundation, and the Israel Cancer Research Fund.
He heads the M.Sc. Program in Medical and Health Sciences and previously directed the Interdisciplinary Program for Life Sciences and Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
