Seminar: Prof. Nir Friedman from the Weizmann Institute of Science
Prof. Nir Friedman's lab studies the systems immunology of T cells: Intercellular Communication, Differentiation and Repertoires. The immune system includes many different types of cells acting in concert, sensing their environment, communicating, and affecting other cells. His group explores many facets of CD4 T cells, which play fundamental roles in orchestrating immune responses. He is interested in understanding organizing principles of T cell repertoires, in terms of their antigen receptor specificity, and also the phenotypes they acquire. His studies combine experimental investigation, emphasizing measurements at the single cell level, with mathematical modeling and bioinformatics analysis.
